Another update for the Vive Pro is integrated (and improved) audio. The new audio strap features an in-line amplifier for richer sound and improved spatial audio, according to HTC, and dual microphones. This means Vive Pro customers won’t have to buy the $99 Deluxe Audio Strap.
The headset will also be compatible with Valve’s upcoming refresh base stations, which will also be shown at CES this year.
The Vive Pro will support any content available for the existing Vive.
HTC will be offering an HMD-only upgrade for Vive users this quarter, with the full Vive Pro expected to arrive later this year. Additional pricing and shipping information has yet to be shared.
