This is your one-page guide to your new Ricoh Theta V. Download the full guide at the bottom of this article to takeIndividual instance of a shot; a take = each time the camera is started and stopped. with you on your first shoot, or gift it alongside any YI 360 VR cameras your friends, family or co-workers will be unwrapping this holiday season.

Why this camera rocks:

This camera has everything you’ve come to know and love about Ricoh’s existing 360 camera options, but with 4K image quality and spatial audio.

What comes in the box:

Camera, USB charging cable, soft case

What doesn’t come in the box:

  • Ricoh TW-1 underwater housing
  • Ricoh TA-1 3D microphoneThis is a description of a microphone it goes here and it's long so that we see if it gets cut off.

Helpful hints:

  • The camera has 19GB of internal storage, but no option for adding removable media.
  • The Theta V’s non-removable battery has a 40-minute battery life when recording 4K video.
  • The app for controlling the camera is different from the apps to edit photos and videos. Ricoh Theta S (yes, S) can control the camera, but you’ll need Ricoh Theta+ to edit photos and Ricoh Theta+ Video to edit videos.
  • Ricoh Theta+ Video allows you to edit 360 video, to crop, add background music, add color filters, change projections to little planet, mirror ball, and flattener.
  • Choose from auto, manual, shutter, and ISO priority modes, as well as a handful of preset ISO situations, via the app.
  • To takeIndividual instance of a shot; a take = each time the camera is started and stopped. a photo with the timer, press the power and WiFi buttons at the same time. The status light will turn green, then press the shutter to start the timer and takeIndividual instance of a shot; a take = each time the camera is started and stopped. a photo.
  • Settings can only be changed via the app when the camera is connected to your smartphone.
  • The camera captures spatial audio with its four microphones. With two on the side of the camera and two on the top, the camera will be able to record spatial audio based on direction and height.
  • The microphoneThis is a description of a microphone it goes here and it's long so that we see if it gets cut off. will capture any camera sounds, so disable shutter sounds through the app to avoid this.
  • You can adjust microphoneThis is a description of a microphone it goes here and it's long so that we see if it gets cut off. gain from the video mode settings menu within the app.
  • For higher quality spatial audio, use the TA-1 microphoneThis is a description of a microphone it goes here and it's long so that we see if it gets cut off., connected via the the microphoneThis is a description of a microphone it goes here and it's long so that we see if it gets cut off. terminal and tripod mount hole. Ricoh recommends using a tripod when recording spatial audio with the TA-1.
  • To stabilize your Ricoh Theta V, use a gimabl like the Moza Guru 360 gimbal.
  • With the TW-1 case, you can still control the camera while the case is on. It can withstand depths up to 30 meters and the underwater stitching is among the best I’ve seen.
  • Images will not be saved if power is turned off before shooting is complete.
