Pixvana has launched the first-of-its-kind 360 publishing platform for Microsoft Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
You can now build custom 360 video apps for Windows MR devices with Pixvana’s SPIN LaunchKit, including SPIN Play SDK and access to SPIN Studio.
With SPIN Studio, users can upload, encode, preview, publish and play 360 videos on Windows MR devices, including headsets from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo and more, while the SPIN Play SDK allows publishers to develop MR video apps (quickly and cheaply, Pixvana says).
SPIN LaunchKit for Windows Mixed Reality is currently available as a free trial.
The free trial includes access for publishers to develop Universal Windows Platform streaming video apps with the SPIN Play SDK for Windows Mixed Reality and create their own branded MR experiences. It also includes up to 30 minutes or 10 GB of 360 video and streaming up to 120 minutes of 360 content.
The free trial also supports master encoding up to 16K mono or stereo and encodes in standard VR equirectangular or Pixvana field of view adaptive streaming (FOVAS) format, which is the same tech behind Valve’s Steam 360 video player.
