Lenovo’s VR180 camera, the Lenovo Mirage Camera, is now available for pre-order on Amazon for $300, with a release date of May 4.

More video and is part of Google’s VR 180 initiative to make immersive media capture more compact, easy to use and similar to traditional video capture.
The initiative, announced last June, included partnerships with LG, Lenovo, Yi Technologies and Z Cam. Other VR 180 cameras include the LucidCam and TwoEyes cameras, among others.

It will also be able to live stream directly to YouTube over WiFi.
The Mirage itself has a power button, a shutter button and a function button to switch between photo, video and live streaming, and a 1/4-inch camera screw for tripods. It can be controlled via a paired smartphone or manually on the camera.
The 5-ounce (139-gram) camera is powered by a removable battery and can be recharged via USB Type-C.
Lenovo announced the Mirage camera alongside Lenovo’s Mirage Solo with Daydream. The Mirage Solo is the first standalone Daydream headset and requires no smartphone or computer to operate. The headset utilizes Google’s motion-tracking techonology, WorldSense, to allow users to move around virtual worlds, untethered.
It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4 GB of RAM to support any Daydream VR experience. The Mirage Solo also boasts a 110-degree field of viewThe angle of space viewable from a given lens position., compared to most headsets’ 90-degree FOV.
Lenovo also plans to release a cellular version, but most likely won’t release that version in the U.S.
